75% new 25%old
things need to be 75% new and 25% old.
i found this out the other day.
generally speaking if it is more than 75% unfamiliar it will most likely be rejected.
it will be uncomfortable, strange, odd, bizarre, wacked, twisted - whatever you like - but basically people with think you're a nut and think what you've presented or created is total bollocks.
whereas if its more than 25% old it will be boring.
"been there done that", too familiar, not original or unique enough and basically not worthy of their time.
id rather be unfamiliar than boring.
i think most people would.
unfamiliar at least grabs attention or stirs some sort of emotion or attitude.
you might hate it and think its disgusting and painful to listen to or watch or feel or understand but at least its not boring.
you begin to think.
you challenge yourself to try to understand.
to try to appreciate even.
most of the time i find that you eventually grow tolerant.
then you begin to see.
to understand.
then you appreciate.
then you enjoy.
sad thing is most of the time im 99.99999999999999% old.

herpes simplex virus
in other words cold sores.
or oral herpes.
this is characterised by fluid filled blisters.
while the appearance may cause concern, it presents no serious risks to your general health.
BUT it has no cure.
and its a little piece of shit that lingers around and bugs the crap out of you.

garden state
written and directed by zach braff.
i liked it.
but i think i need to watch it again sometime soon.
that was my first thought as i finished the movie which was a bit bizarre.
my second thought was damn - andrew bought the dvd. i wish i had bought it.
but i did like it - a lot actually.
i wouldnt mind meeting someone like sam (natalie portman).
i think more people like her who have her attitude or mentality really wouldnt hurt.
the film had a lot of heart.
a lot of warm and fuzzy heart.

thirdtimelucky?
third time lucky maybe?
i admit im not a blogger and have always thought people who do were nobheads.
maybe ive become a nobhead?
maybe i should just go back and recreate my xanga?
maybe this too will last only a few days.
i find that my very blahh days leave me with a new blog to maintain.
first it was the xanga when i was very blahhh doing an assignment. then it was the msn space when i was just blahhh and today the blogspot where wonki is wonks and i am indeed very blahhhhh.
theres a way of writing on blogs that i noticed a lot of people seem to write in and i think im doing that right now too. its that sort of im talking to myself but pretending i have an audience listening so i think ill try to say something worthwhile when really its all just blahhhh.
hmmmmm...
it is indeed all very blahhh today despite the fact that apparently it was a pretty nice day.
i need to leave and get a coffee.
